Real Joy in 2023
As we enter the 2023 New Year, I know it is common to wish you a HAPPY ONE but instead I am wishing you a JOYOUS one. Happiness just does not last but…..Joy is a choice.
Rick Warren gave us this definition of joy: “Joy is the settled assurance that God is in control of all the details of my life, the quiet confidence that ultimately everything is going to be alright and the determined choice to praise God in every situation.” Here are some joyful scenes from years of volunteering in Haiti.
I especially enjoyed the New Year sermon I heard this year. It was about my favorite movie, “It’s A Wonderful Life”. As the Pastor talked about how the angel Clarence explained to George Baily how different everyones life would be, had George never been born, I thought about how different life would be for those in Haiti who have been saved because you were there for them. Those of you who have made the choice to do without something for yourself to help others surely know what JOY is.
2023 The Joyous Mission Continues
Present and ongoing projects include:
Feeding hungry families, offering educational opportunities to those who are eager to learn, sponsoring medical teams and eyeglass clinics, irrigation and farming assistance, goat herding and chicken raising while connecting those we serve with churches and Pastors.
With the current state of political unrest in Haiti and the COVID pandemic continuing there, we have not sent teams to Haiti for safety reasons. Our work is being handled in expert fashion by field director Lophane Laurent who remains on the ground in Haiti.
The heart of Mission Haiti has been the relationships created between our Haitian brothers and sisters and those of us in the United States so that we empower them to carry on the mission God has given them to expand HIS KINGDOM.
We ask for your prayers as we plan for the future and for your financial support so the Gospel can impact many lives.
God’s Blessings to you all,
Susan
