HAITI CHALLENGES
The powerful earthquake and tropical storm in Haiti this past August have added to the challenges of a nation still in mourning after the assassination of their president last month. The death toll is over 2,000 and Haitian officials estimate there are 600,000 in need of emergency assistance.
Mission: Haiti's team on the ground have already been at work connecting with the communities they serve regularly through GROWW and Health Outreach Projects. Our team reports that the worst hit are Les Cayes, Jeremie, Nippes, and Port Salut. We have already been in contact with our partners and leaders there to begin distributing emergency funds. Immediate needs include food, water, hygiene kits, and blue tarps. Even now we are beginning to prepare for the repairs and rebuilding to come.
The needs in Haiti are immense.
What can you do?
PRAY. Pray for our brothers and sisters in Haiti as they face challenges, meet physical needs and bring the hope of Jesus and the power of the Gospel.
GIVE. We are dispersing funds to ministry partners in each of the four areas listed above to meet needs on the ground. To support Mission: Haiti's efforts financially, visit https://www.missionhaiti99.org/donate.
